“Didn't know what time it was and the lights were low
I leaned back on my radio
Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll 'lotta soul, he said
Then the loud sound did seem to fade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase
That weren't no D.J. that was hazy cosmic jive
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds”
-David Bowie, “Starman”
This stunning, natural citrine weighs a substantial 20.2 carats and displays incomparable clarity. Cut by Mark Oros and entitled, “Starman,” this design is inspired by one of Mark’s favorite lapidary artists, Glenn Klein. Mark started with Mr. Klein’s original Starman design, converted it to quartz, and added a few embellishments and fantasy cuts to create his own variation of Starman.
When looking at this exceptional stone, it is no wonder where the name “Starman” comes from. This superb yellow citrine looks like it could have been plucked from the night sky itself! Citrine is one of the traditional birthstones for November and like David Bowie proclaimed in his song of the same name, this Starman is sure to blow your mind.
