HULK SMASH!
It may be the golden/green color, or perhaps it is the irradiation which caused the color transformation to begin with, but whatever the reason, Oro Verde quartz always make me think of superheroes. When I look upon the extraordinary color of this 9.0 carat, 14.1mm monstrosity, I cannot help but think of the Incredible Hulk.
As any comic enthusiast will tell you, the Incredible Hulk is the alter ego of Bruce Banner, a mild mannered physicist who transforms into a hulking green behemoth under emotional distress. Bruce Banner first transformed into the Hulk after being caught in a blast of radiation. This variety of quartz from Brazil is turned into this spectacular golden/green hue after being treated with irradiation and heat.
When cutting this gem Mr. Perkins used a round brilliant design that allows for optimal light return to endow this stone with tremendous sparkle and flash. While Bruce Banner transformed into the Hulk when something upset him, it’s hard to imagine anybody feeling anything but joy and happiness when admiring this work of art. A stone of this size and quality would make an exceptional piece of custom jewelry for anybody who appreciates beauty- whether they are a fan of comic books or not.
